Ross Allen Divine

Ross Allen Divine was born Sunday morning, January 3, 1960 to Walter ‘Buss’ and Violet (Wright) Divine in Lamar, Missouri.
When Ross was about ten years old the family moved to Vista, Missouri where they operated a grocery/feed store. Ross attended the Vista United Methodist Church, and made a confession of faith in Christ Jesus and was baptized on December 12, 1971 by Pastor Wilber Denney.
Ross attended school in Osceola and excelled on the basketball court and the football field. He also served as President of the Osceola Chapter of the FFA.
After Ross graduated from Osceola High School in 1978 he worked for a time locally then went to work in Lee’s Summit, Missouri to pursue his life-long favorite occupation as a framing carpenter. During that same time he continued in his love of sports and young people serving as Assistant Coach with his brother, Mike Taylor, who was Coach of the Blue Springs Soccer Club.
In 1983 Ross started his own company and continued in that same work until he was physically unable to do it. He was first diagnosed with cancer in June 2016 but even while taking multiple chemotherapy treatments he still continued to work until March 2017.
Ross and Peggy Barber were married November 21, 1998 at Park Grove Christian Church and have made their home in Clinton, Missouri.
Ross was preceded in death by his parents who died within six months of each other in 2003.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy, of the home in Clinton, a sister, Joyce and husband Rory Shelby of Clinton, a half-brother Leo ‘Mike’ Taylor and wife Sue of Blue Springs, MO, half-sisters, Geraldine and husband Joe Purrier of Ocala, FL, and Betty Faye Moenning of Republic, MO, step-son Brandon Crain and step-daughter Tandy Barber, both of Springfield, MO, plus 11 nieces and nephews and a host of good friends.
Ross will be fondly remembered with love and appreciation by all who knew him.
Services have been entrusted to Vansant-Mills Funeral Home of Clinton, Missouri.
