Samuel ‘Sam’ Williams, age 68 years, of Knob Noster, Missouri passed away Thursday, July 6, 2017 at Ridge Crest Nursing Center, Warrensburg, Missouri. Fond memories and condolences can be left online at www.vansant-millsfuneralhome.com.
Samuel Williams, nicked named “Pee-Wee” was born on March 2, 1949 in Houston, Texas. He graduated from Phyllis Wheatley High School in Houston, Texas. Shortly upon graduation he entered into the United States Air Force, were he served for 20 years with upon retirement. Soon after, Sam accepted a position as a maintenance worker at the Johnson County Care Center in Warrensburg where he worked for more than 19 years.
Samuel is survived by his children, Samuel G. Williams, Jr. (Lisa), Savannah, Missouri; Quincy Williams (Michelle), Hudsonville, Michigan; Tyise Brown, Warrensburg, Missouri and his daughter-in-law Jill Williams, St. Joseph, Missouri. He is preceded in death by his parents Luvenia DeRousselle (mother), Albert Williams (father), his wife Mary Williams, daughter Loretta Copeland and his sisters Mary Alice Williams and Deborah Ann Littleton.
Samuel was a great family man and a loving father. Samuel was a social, active man who enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching old western movies starring John Wayne. His family and friends will always remember him as a loving and philanthropic person.
Samuel has 15 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews, relatives and friends to mourn his loss. He was loved by many.
