Connie Oehring passed away peacefully at her home in Greenfield, Missouri, on August 1, 2017. She was born March 20, 1946, the only daughter of Charles Jay and Mildred (Dorward) Davis Bitner. She spent her formative years around the family farm near Appleton City and graduated from Appleton City High School in 1964. After completing her education Connie married Howard Oehring on December 20, 1979, her husband of 38 years.
Connie loved working out in the yard, especially caring for her flowers. She was a giving person that dutifully went to every garage sale near her home and gave the treasures she found to her friends and family selflessly. Her family remembers that she always kept an immaculate house with nothing out of place. Moreover, collecting geese figurines and listening to her many wind chimes outside her lakefront home and also enjoying the wildlife were some of her most enjoyed things and times. Apart from these hobbies and activities, Connie dedicated much of her time to Arcola Christian Church, where she remained a dedicated and active member throughout her life. Above all, she was devoted to her family and gave selflessly to them all her life. The world never knew a greater wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend, and she will be deeply missed by her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Jay and Mildred Davis; her brother Ronnie Davis.
Connie is survived by her husband: Howard; children: Rodney (Leslie) Zinn, Rhonda (Arnie) Schreier, Gregory (Tara) Oehring, Ronnie (Sharmin) Oehring; eight grandchildren: Jake and Tiffany Zinn, Amanda and Chesney Schreier, David and Allison Oehring, and Ciara and Clarissa Oehring; two great-grandchildren: Jet and Maverick Zinn; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
