Christopher “Lil Man” Sales
 
Christopher “Lil Man” Sales, 36, of Kansas City, Missouri, died Monday, August 7, 2017, at Truman Medical Center in Kansas City.
 
He was born April 6, 1981, in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of Robert Duane Mitchell and Elizabeth Louis (Hill) Leer. On July 13, 1999, Christopher and Shelly Taute welcomed a daughter, Sapphire Sales-Taute
 
Christopher worked with his step-father in construction doing demolition and salvage work. He had also worked in building and remodeling and at Price Chopper in Independence for a time. He liked to go fishing and spent time drawing. Playing one-on-one basketball with his daughter and wrestling with the nieces and nephews were also things he enjoyed.
 
In addition to his daughter Sapphire of Independence, Mo., he is survived by his mother Elizabeth and step-father Denis Smith of Hume, Mo.; his father Robert Mitchell and step-mother Rhonda of Excelsior Springs, Mo.; eight brothers and sisters, Kristi Kline (Ray), Michael L. Sales, Shelly L. Sales, Denise Klima (Rick), Becky Hughes (Brandon), Benjamin Pengleton, Brain Templeton (Jessica), and Kala Fields; many nieces and nephews; a great-niece; Sapphire’s mother Shelly Taute, Independence, Mo.; his mother and father-in-law Pam and Louis Taute, Independence, MO.; a grandmother-in-life Peggy Johnston, Independence, Mo., a sister-in-law, Mandy Taute and her son Ronny Trent; life-long best friends James Renno and his wife Kim, Windsor, Mo., and many other extended family members.
 
He was preceded in death by grandparents Buster and Janie Hill, Betty and Orville Smith, Viviane and Charles Sales, and Gene and Caroline Mitchell.
 
Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 15, 2017, at the Hadley Funeral Home, Windsor, with Rev. Doug Hall officiating. Visitation will be held before the service from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established for Christopher’s daughter and contributions may be left in care of the funeral home. Condolences may be left online at www.hadleyfuneralhome.com.
