James R. Sutton, 82, Clinton, Missouri passed away March 20, 2018 at his home in Clinton. A celebration of Jim’s life will be on Sunday March 25 at 2pm with a visitation one hour prior at Souls Harbour Worship Center, Tightwad, Missouri. Jim was born in Windsor, Missouri January 27, 1936 and lived most of his life in Clinton, Missouri. He was in the US Army during the Korean War. Jim started out as a mail carrier, Postal Inspector, Postmaster for three locations and retired his professional career as Postmaster in Clinton. Jim was involved in community services such as Boy Scout Assistant Scout Master of Troop 436, played city Santa Claus, Jaycees, VFW and Old Glory Days. Jim owned and operated “Jim’s Gun Shop”. Jim was an avid fisherman and caught the largest trout in Bennett Springs in 1967, loved deer and turkey hunting and later became passionate about duck and goose hunting where he had a guide service for many years. He played music in his band “Rambling Rex’s” in his younger years and later when he gave his life to the Lord, he played Gospel for church and many community venues.

Jim was a member of Souls Harbour Worship Center in Tightwad, Missouri where he played with the Worship team. He was preceded in death by his parents. Jim is survived by his wife Nancy of the home. Four children, Kathy Sutton, Joann Chamberlain, Jim Sutton (Deborah), Bill Sutton (Deborah) and two step-children, Brian Carroll and Mindy Lott (Jason). Six grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Vansant-Mills Funeral Home, Clinton.
