4/2-Rich Gatschet

Rich Gatschet, 53, of Windsor, Missouri, formerly of Blue Springs, Mo., died Friday evening, March 30, 2018, at his home in rural Windsor.

He was born January 20, 1965 in Kansas City, Mo., the son of Jacob Charles Gatschet and Reta Loraine (Bell) Gatschet. On October 5, 1996, in Raytown, Mo., he married Christine Marie Toomey. Rich and Christine were the parents of two children, Dalton Tyler and Morgan Ann.

Rich worked in the auto repair business for over 31 years. He worked in the Kansas City area for Metro Ford and Dick Smith Ford and most recently at Warrensburg Collision, Warrensburg, Mo. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. His dogs Maggie, Scrappy, Sue and Squirt were faithful companions. He loved to grill, especially for family gatherings. Family was important to Rich, but most important was time spent with his children.

Survivors include a son Dalton Gatschet of the home in Windsor; a daughter Morgan Gatschet, Blue Springs, Mo.; his best friend, Christine Gatschet, Blue Springs, Mo.; his father, Jacob Gatschet, Sun City, Arizona; two brothers, Jeff Gatschet, Raymore, Mo., and Mike Gatschet (Tina), Raytown, Mo.; several nieces and nephews including Jacob Gatschet, Mackie Toomey and Cameron Toomey and a great-niece Kendall Gatschet; an uncle, Bob Parrack, Windsor, Mo.; a cousin, Debbie Zinn, Belton, Texas; his father-in-law, Fred Toomey, Sr., Warsaw, Mo.; and a brother-in-law, Fred Toomey (Angie), Nixa, Mo. He was preceded in death by his mother, Reta Gatschet; his mother-in-law, Judy Toomey; and several aunts and uncles, Gale and Frances VanSlyke, Ann Parrack, Albert and Mary Ellen Watson.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 4, 2018, at the Hadley Funeral Home, Windsor, with Rev. Doug Hall officiating. Cremation will follow. The family will receive friends before the service from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Condolences may be left online at www.hadleyfuneralhome.com.
