Robert Stanley Pattison, 85, was born August 21, 1932 to John T. and Florence (Oakes) Pattison. He passed away Sunday, April 8, 2018, surrounded by family, at Saint Luke’s Medical Center in Kansas City, MO. Memorial service and Masonic service will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 14, 2018 at the Clinton Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), 1201 East Ohio Street, Clinton, MO, with visitation and celebration to follow, at the church under the direction of the Bradley & Hadley Funeral Home, Clinton. The family suggests memorial gifts to the Clinton Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), and these donations may be left in care of the funeral home. Entombment will be at a later date. He is survived by his wife, Diane, of the home; two daughters, Sherry Hooten and husband Jack, and Kelli Wright and husband Dean; one son, Daniel Pattison; four grandchildren, Ryan Hooten, Amy Genz, Blake Hooten and Kyle Pattison; three step-grandchildren, Aaron Dueker, Justin Dueker and Rachel Moore and her husband Dustin; one great-grandchild, Elmo Genz; and four step-great-grandchildren, Cooper Moore, Sadie Dueker, Fayth Dueker and Zayden Dueker.
Affectionately known as Robert, Bob, Stanley, Sonny, Pat or Chief, depending on how you knew him. He was born in Windsor, MO. He attended numerous schools including Leeton and Warrensburg, graduating from Windsor High School in 1950. He played in the 1950 Missouri State High School basketball tournament for Windsor. He scored the first ever touchdown when Windsor started it’s football program. He graduated from Central Missouri State University, now University of Central Missouri, with a degree in criminal justice.
Bob began his 38 year career in law enforcement in 1958 with the Kansas City, Missouri Police Department, retiring as captain in 1986. He then became Chief of Police in Clinton, MO, retiring again in 1996.
Bob was a lifelong member of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), member of the Clinton Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite Bodies, and the Clinton Shrine, and the Clinton Sunrise Optimist Club. He loved playing golf (and winning bets), fishing and hunting. He loved reminiscing with old friends from Windsor, Clinton and Kansas City. Reminiscing about their police experiences with other retired officers would last for hours.
He was loved and respected by family and many friends and will be greatly missed.
