Dorothy Marie Stohr, 92, of Clinton, formerly of Sedalia, died Saturday, September 8,
2018 at Westwood Living Center in Clinton.
Funeral services will 2 p.m. Saturday, September 15, 2018 at McLaughlin Funeral Chapel
with the Rev. Robert Sisney officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers
will be T.J. Bridges, Daniel Lewis, Mike Matteson, Justin Franken, Jim Lewis and Mark
Franken. Honorary pallbearers will be John Paul Stohr, Heather Bridges, Jamie Matteson
and Kimberly Benedict. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time at the funeral
chapel. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Children’s Therapy Center, or Twin
Lakes Hospice, in care of McLaughlin Funeral Chapel.
Born February 20, 1926 in Sedalia, she was a daughter of the late John E. and Naomi
Goodnight Cole. On February 3, 1947 at Sacred Heart Church in Sedalia, she was united
in marriage to John R. Stohr, who preceded her in death. Surviving are two daughters,
Barbara Lewis (Jim) of Clinton and Beverly Franken (Mark) of Austin, TX; a daughterin-law,
Treva Stohr, of Sedalia; 6 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was also
preceded in death by her stepmother, Blanche Cole; and her son Gary Stohr.
Mrs. Stohr loved to go on trips, gambling and spending time with her family, especially
her grandchildren. She also enjoyed gardening, canning and sewing. She was a member
of the Quisenberry Community Club and Quisenberry Ladies Aid.
