Carl D. Green

( April 30, 1936 – October 22, 2018 )

The SERVICE for Mr. Green will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 25, 2018 at Hill and Son Funeral Home in Appleton City, Missouri.

OFFICIATING at the service will be Mark Samborski.

VISITATION will be held between 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 25, 2018 at Hill and Son Funeral Home in Appleton City, Missouri.

INURNMENT will be in Myers Cemetery, rural Appleton City, Missouri at at later date.

MEMORIAL donations are to a Family Love Fund.

Carl Dewayne Green, 82, was born April 30, 1936 in Cross Timbers, Missouri son of Hermann Louis and Katie Marie (Olson) Green.  He passed away October 22, 2018 at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri.

Carl grew up in the Cross Timbers area.  After graduation he moved to Kansas City meeting Carolyn Jean Gregory in 1957.  They were married August 10, 1957 in a church in Nashua, Missouri and to this union five sons were born.  Carl worked for Butler Manufacturing in Kansas City for many years, later working for DC Truck Line as a dock worker.  The family moved to a home southwest of Appleton City, Missouri in 1978.  In 1980 they moved into town where they remained.  Carl retired from trucking in 1990.

Throughout his life, Carl was an avid motorcycle enthusiast.  He loved riding and racing.  He had been an American Motorcycle Association member for over 60 years.  He loved hunting deer with a bow and also gun.  He also enjoyed hunting pheasant, turkey and quail.  Carl would read the newspaper each day from front to back, sometimes taking it in the car to continue reading while waiting on Carolyn to do her shopping.  He liked watching spaghetti westerns and enjoyed the music from them.

Preceding Carl in death were his parents; one son Craig; his brothers, Dorvin “Skeet” Green, Lonnie Green, Kenneth Green; and one sister Elmina Samborski.  Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Green of the home; four sons, Blane Green and wife Gail, Curtis Green, Brent Green and Cody Green; two sisters, Rita Enderly and Sharon Woodard and husband Ron; four grandchildren, Damon and wife Katy, Stephanie and husband Ryan, Jamie and Christopher and fiancée Chelsey; and eight great-grandchildren, Aiden, Morissa, Oscar, Sophie, Jane, Nicole, Carson and Canaan.
