Charles was born December 10, 1933 in Kansas City, Missouri the son of Charles Sr. and Vivian (Tinsley) Gillespie. He was self-employed working in construction, and he also farmed. Charles was an Air Force veteran serving time in Korea.
Among survivors is his daughter Betty Tilley, and sons Gary and Scott Gillespie.
