Delores was preceded in death by her first husband Bobby Crawford, parents Ewing Daugherty and Alberta Tackitt, her sister, Patty Cooper, her brothers Junior, Mearl, and Paul Daugherty. The passing of anyone is a difficult experience, especially one’s mother. We always considered mom to be a demanding woman. She encouraged her children to pursue a better education than she had in her early years and bless her heart, she finally got her high school diploma in her late thirties. She also graduated from cosmetology school and went on to become an Instructor. My favorite times with mom was making cookies and homemade candies, baking pies, sweets and other delights for the holidays along with summer canning.
As a three time cancer survivor, she kept her family strong while in agonizing pain. She valiantly fought for survival during her final illness before she no longer had the strength and energy to continue. She had the will but her heart and kidneys were not strong enough to continue treatment. It was so hard to watch her gasping those lasts breaths of life but God seen her struggles and decided to ease her pain and take her home to heaven.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Vansant-Mills Funeral Home, Clinton, MO.
