3/29-Alice Ferguson

Alice E. Ferguson, 97, of Windsor, Missouri, died early Saturday morning, March 26, 2016, at the California Care Center, California, Mo.

She was born May 31, 1918, in Concrete, Washington, the daughter of John “Jack” Ebing and Helen Faye (Nestlerode) Ebing. In December of 1939 she married Eugene Nelson Webb. Gene was a casualty of WWII in the Philippines and died on Jan 15, 1945. They were the parents of two children, Carol and Dennis. On January 27, 1946, in Windsor, Mo., she married William Nyal “Jack” Ferguson and he preceded her in death on April 13, 2006.

Alice was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker. She and Jack enjoyed dancing, especially square dancing. She was a talented seamstress. She enjoyed other forms of handwork and gave knitting lessons for a time. Making sweaters for her family gave her great joy. She was a member of the First Christian Church and played the piano and organ and sang in the church choir.

Survivors include 2 sons, Dennis E. Ferguson and his wife Marilyn, Georgetown, Texas; and Jerry W. Ferguson and his wife Dianne, Warrensburg, Mo.; 2 daughters, Carol G. DesCombes and her husband Larry, Leeton, Mo.; and Janice G. Williams, Sedalia, Mo.; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and 2 nieces Karen Yerian and Sue Zielanski. In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Charles Ebing and John Ebing.

Graveside memorial services will be 3:30 p.m.  April 3rd at the Laurel Oak Cemetery, Windsor, with Rev. David Mills officiating. The family will receive friends before the service from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Hadley Funeral Home, Windsor.
