Gary M. Hackett

OFFICIATING at the service will be Craig Johnson.
NO VISITATION is planned. Anyone wishing to sign the guestbook and pay last respects to Gary and are unable to attend the graveside service, may stop by Hill and Son Funeral Home after 1:00 pm Saturday or before 11:45 am Sunday.
The family suggests any MEMORIAL donations honoring Gary, be made to Appleton City Cemetery.
Gary Hackett, the only child of Lavon and Hazel Hackett was born February 28, 1940. He passed away Friday, April 22, 2016 in Appleton City, Missouri at the age of 76.
As a teenager, Gary moved with his parents to Warrensburg, Missouri where he graduated high school and attended one year of college. While in Warrensburg, Gary met and married Margaret Edna (Barbee) Hackett. To this union three children were born, two daughters and a son.
In 1972 Gary and his family moved to Appleton City, Missouri where he worked for Missouri Public Service (now KCP&L) and retired in 2005 after 42 years with the company.
Gary’s favorite pastime was his family and fishing. He loved to fish. He loved watching his grandchildren do any kind of sports. He also loved watching NASCAR and attending some of their races
Gary was preceded in death by both his parents and grandparents.
He is survived by his wife, Edna of the home and his three children: Carolyn Bishop and husband Bill, Lorrie Hackett, and Tom Hackett and wife Nicole; nine grandchildren: Kristy Young and husband Brian, Craig Johnson and wife Karen, Kai Bishop, Grant Heiman, Garrett Heiman, Aidan Wirkkula, Cannon Hackett, Andy Hackett, Sarah Hackett and six great-grandchildren and many more family and friends.
