Virginia Lea (Clay) Grindstaff

( March 16, 1943 – September 06, 2016 )

Virginia Grindstaff, age 73 years, of Windsor, MO passed away September 6, 2016 at St. Luke’s East Hospital, Lees Summit, MO. The family will receive friends from 6-7:30pm Sept. 12, 2016 at the Vansant-Mills Chapel. Funeral Services will be at 10:30am, Sept. 13, 2016, also at Vansant-Mills Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Hopewell Cemetery in Montrose, MO. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society and may be left in care of the funeral home. Virginia was born Mar. 16, 1943 in Fairfax, OK to James Dudley Clay and Georgia Faye Roberts. She retired from assembly work at Rival Manufacturing. Virginia enjoyed crossword puzzles, playing cards, listening to oldies and dancing. She loved her great grandkids very much.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, husband Howard Franklin Grindstaff, four sisters and two brothers.

Among survivors are her two daughters; Rhonda Collins and her daughter Casey of Knob Noster, MO, and Chasity Scott and husband Darrell of Windsor, MO, four brothers; George Clay of Kansas City, MO, Henry Clay of Clinton, MO, Benny Clay of Topeka, KS, two sisters; Mary Brown of Clinton, MO and Patty Ruscetta of South Carolina, and great grandchildren; Cadence Scott, Jacob Scott, Andrew Scott, and Benton Gannon.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Vansant-Mills Funeral Home, Clinton, MO.
