Audrey Mae Ison, 79, of Windsor, Missouri, died Sunday, September 25, 2016, at Windsor Healthcare & Rehabilitation.
She was born December 10, 1936, in Blaine, Kentucky, the daughter of Woodrow Arrington and Ruth (Lester) Arrington. On April 4, 1954, in Catlettsburg, Kentucky, she married Floyd Bernard Ison and they were the parents of three children. The marriage ended in 1979.
Audrey was raised in the Boyd County, Kentucky area. She and her family lived in various places throughout the United States during Floyd’s military career. Upon his retirement, they moved back to Kentucky. When the children were at home, Audrey was an “on the go” Mom. Taking care of her children, cooking, and sewing was her life’s work. She later earned her CNA license and also worked for H&R Block for a year. She was active in the Senior Center in Ashland. After moving to Missouri, she attended Sunday School at the Assembly of God of Windsor.
Survivors include 3 children, Vickie Delynn Flannery and her husband Wade, State of Texas; Robert Dean Ison and his wife Lynda, Madison, Alabama; and Penny Sue Jones and her husband Bernie, Windsor, MO; 2 grandchildren, Jamie Hall and Michael Jones; 3 great-grandchildren, Jonathon and Justin Hall and Littia Jones; a brother-in-law, Carl Naylor; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Barbara Sue Naylor.
Audrey requested no funeral or flowers associated with her passing. A private sprinkling of ashes will be done next week. Arrangements are under the direction of the Hadley Funeral Home, Windsor, and condolences may be left online at www.hadleyfuneralhome.com.
