Carrie B. Clinton

Carrie Beth Clinton, 58, of Windsor, Missouri died Monday, October 10, 2016, as the result of a motor vehicle collision near Warsaw, Mo.

She was born January 7, 1958, in Wisconsin. Her parents were Robert T. Gray and Mary Ann (Ready) Gray.

Carrie was raised in the Chicago area and lived in various places in the United States. As a member of the United States Air Force, she served in Florida and Iceland. After her military service she turned her focus towards raising her two children, Joshua and Emily. She was a devoted Mother, always putting her children first despite hardships. After her children were grown, she went to college and earned her Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Central Missouri, excelling as a non-traditional student. She was nearing completing of her master’s degree in Library Science. She began teaching in Calhoun, Mo., and was currently teaching 4th grade at Warsaw North Elementary School. She was the recipient of multiple education awards such as the Excellent Eagle Teacher Award. She was an avid runner and enjoyed participating in 5Ks and won several in her age category. She was a zealous knitter and participated in several knitting clubs. She loved using technology, especially in her classroom, and was passionate about literature. She was a member of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church in Windsor.

Survivors include a son, Joshua Clinton (fiancé Michelle), Quaker Hill, Connecticut; a daughter, Emily Clinton, Kansas City, Mo.; 5 brothers and sisters, Lynn Hays, Charlotte, North Carolina; Robert Gray, Chicago, Illinois; John Gray (Sherry), Scottsdale, Arizona; Tina Rabe (Gordon), San Antonio, Texas; and Benjamin Gray (Stephanie), Scottsdale, Arizona; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, Peter and Irene Ready, and a brother, Samuel Gray.

 

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 15, 2016, at the St. Bartholomew Catholic Church, Windsor, with Celebrant Father Jim Taranto. The family will receive friends before the service at the church from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. A Rosary prayer service will be held Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the Hadley Funeral Home, Windsor. Burial will be at a later date in the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, Phoenix, Az. The family suggests contributions to the Carrie Clinton Technology Fund for Warsaw North Elementary School (checks payable to Warsaw North Elementary School) in care of the funeral home, Hawthorn Bank in Windsor or Warsaw, or Warsaw North Elementary School.
