Roy R. Davis, age 93, of Clinton, MO died at his home on November 28, 2016.
Roy was born January 9, 1923, to David Emerson Davis and Honor (Easter) Davis of Dekalb, MO. After high school he attended college, receiving his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree. Roy served in World War II in the Army Corp of Engineers, receiving the Bronze Star Medal for valor. He served honorably in the European theater in the 3rd Army under General George Patton. He then taught school and coached basketball and football in Maryville, MO, before going to work for Amoco Oil Corp as a Sales Representative. Roy retired in 1986 and he and Alma moved to Clinton. He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Clinton Elks Lodge, American Legion and served on the Samaritan Center Board of Directors, but was often found golfing with friends and family at Meadow Lake Golf Course.
Survivors include his wife, Alma, of the home; children, Randy (Pat) Davis of Colorado Springs, CO, Jan (Rich) Bowers of Tampa, FL, Greg (Sharon) Davis of Manhattan, KS, and Lori Johnson of Clinton, MO; grandchildren, Brady, Kelly, Jeff, Molly, Megan, Kelsey, Danny, Katy, Chris, Sam and Joe; great-grandchildren, Jacob, Eli, Graham, Bailey, Ellis and Ava; a brother, Harry Davis; and many treasured nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents; a sister, Waiva; and brothers, Marvin, John, Frank, Bill and Fred.
The family will receive visitors at 10:00 AM on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Clinton, MO. A funeral mass will be conducted at 11:00 AM, followed by an Inurnment at Englewood Cemetery, Clinton.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to some of Roy’s favorite causes: the Samaritan Center, Twin Lakes Hospice or Holy Rosary Catholic Church and left in care of Consalus Funeral Home, 209 S. 2nd St., Clinton, MO 64735.
