8/1-Stanley Hix

Stanley Boyd Hix, 67, of Windsor, Missouri, passed away on July 8, 2017 at Truman Lake Manor in Lowry City, Mo., following a brief illness.

He was born on October 19, 1949, in Climax Springs, Mo. He was the youngest of 13 children born to John Henry Hix and Odessa Iva (Schoonover) Hix.

Stanley grew up near Leeton, Mo., and attended Calhoun High School­­. He served in the United States Navy from 1969 to 1971, in Corpus Christie, Texas. He was a member of the American Legion Troop in Windsor, Mo. He also enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. In addition, he enjoyed horse shoes and, most recently, Wednesday night poker with his best friends.

Stanley is survived by his daughter, Delissa Blacketer of Harrisonville, Mo., along with his two grandchildren, Bella and Xavier. He is also survived by three brothers, Von Hix (Wilma) of Clinton, Mo., Hoyt Hix (Sammie) of Independence, Mo., and Ron Hix of Windsor, Mo.; three sisters, Virgie Harms of Windsor, Mo., Patsy Cox (Bill) of Leeton, Mo., and Kay Cox (Gerald) of Leeton, Mo.; additional brothers and sisters-in-law including Claire Reed of Buffalo, Mo., Ron White of Worthington, Minnesota, Gwen Hix of Warrensburg, Mo., and Patty Hix of Coulee Dam, Washington; and numerous nephews, nieces, great-nephews and nieces, and great-great nephews and nieces.

Stanley was preceded in death by his parents, John and Odessa; his three brothers, Keith Hix, Dale Hix and Dwight Hix; and three sisters, Phyllis Deardeuff, Shirley Reed and Marilyn White.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Memorial visitation will be 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Friday, August 4, 2017, at the Hadley Funeral Home, Windsor.  Memorial contributions are suggested to Delissa Blacketer. Condolences may be left online at www.hadleyfuneralhome.com.
