Evelyn Scott
Born: December 15, 1924
Died: June 14, 2015
Evelyn Scott, 90, died on Sunday, June 14, at Golden Living Center-Westwood. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, George and Noble Scott, and her one brother, W.D. Scott.

Evelyn’s immediate family gathered on Wednesday, June 17, for a memorial service at Vansant-Mills Funeral Home. It was a special time to reflect on Evelyn’s attributes that our family was privileged to share.

Evelyn was mentally challenged from birth. However, she was given a personality that won the hearts of everyone who came to know her. While we tried to learn from Evelyn while she was with us here, we hope by sharing her characteristics we can all continue to learn from Evelyn’s example.

She loved unconditionally, never hesitant to forgive us when we said we were sorry, she kept smiling in the worst of circumstances, made many adjustments in her lifetime with contentment, encouraged us always to pay her “rent” and she was interested in the lives of everyone around her.

Our thank you is extended to everyone through the years who were so nice to Evelyn. She loved you. She liked being at Westwood and told us very often. Thank you to everyone at Westwood who took such good care of Evelyn for 10 years.

“Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints.”
Psalm 116:15.

Survivors are Hazel Scott, sister-in-law, Larry and Georgie Scott, Lenny and Dinah Scott, and Sandra and Tom Spooner.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Vansant-Mills Funeral Home of Clinton, Missouri. Fond memories and condolences can be left online at www.vansant-millsfuneralhome.com.
