Beverly J. Drew, age 83 years, passed away Thursday August 27, 2015 at Golden Valley Memorial Hospital, Clinton, Missouri. A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 18, 2015, 2:00 PM at Vansant-Mills Funeral Home, Clinton, Missouri. Visitation will take place one hour prior. Inurnment will be held at a later date in Greenwood Cemetery, Knoxville, Iowa. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Mt. Beverly was born January 20, 1932 in Des Moines, Iowa the daughter of Alvis Earl Calder and Velma Orlean Reynolds.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and one sister, Carol Elaine Moceri.

Among survivors is her daughter Cindy Dubovich (David)of Clinton,Missouri, son David Drozdowski (Nancy)of Shelby Township, Michigan; niece Michele Strickler (Sean)of Tampa, Florida; and four grandchildren Angela VanBrabant, Valerie Kilbride, Michael Drozdowski, Darlene Green; four great grandchildren, Aubri, Briana, Ava and Joshua and her uncle Ralph Fry of Des Moines, Iowa.

Dorothy J. “Dot” Stone, 89, of Clinton, Missouri died Friday, September 11, 2015 at the Golden Living Center-Westwood in Clinton, Mo.

She was born September 30, 1925 in Latham, Mo., the daughter of James O. Coffelt and Bessie A. (McBroom) Coffelt.

On February 19, 1944 she married Clarence Verlin Stone in Lincoln, Mo. He preceded her in death on May 31, 2007.

During their early years of marriage, she and Clarence farmed. Dot enjoyed being a homemaker. She also enjoyed working. Dot and Clarence owned the Dairy Cream, a carwash, and laundromat, all in Lincoln, Mo. When she retired from those ventures she worked as a waitress for Rigby’s Truck Stop. She was a member of the Lincoln United Methodist Church in Lincoln, Mo., the Red Hats, TOPS, Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary. In her spare time she enjoyed gardening and canning the vegetables from her garden.

Surviving are one son, Jim Stone and his wife Linda of Clinton, Mo.; one daughter, Mary Margaret Binder and her husband Wayne of Garland, Texas; six grandchildren, Tammy Smith and her husband Lee of Wylie, Tx., Kelly Carter and her husband Kenny of Lee’s Summit, Mo., Tina Binder of Garland, Tx., Angie Streby and fiance’ David Hilkemeyer of Lee’s Summit, Mo., Tim Stone and wife Kim of Harrisonville, Mo., and Jeff Stone and wife Julia of Clinton, Mo.; ten great-grandchildren; one brother, Theodore Coffelt and wife Helen of Houstonia, Mo.; one sister, Bernadine Mitchell and husband R. Dub of Houstonia, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband Clarence, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Harold Coffelt, Floyd Coffelt, and Bill Coffelt; and one sister, Mary Jo Fischer.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at the Bradley & Hadley Funeral Home, Clinton, Mo. Reverend Barry Edwards will officiate. Burial will be in the Lincoln Cemetery, Lincoln, Mo. The family will receive friends one hour before the service from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home. Friends may call from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Wounded Warriors Project. Glenn “Eddie” Justis, age 63 years, of Clinton, Missouri passed away Monday, September 14, 2015 at his home. Eddie’s wishes were to be cremated with a private family graveside at a later date. Eddie was born March 17, 1952 in Henry County, Missouri the son of Joseph and Maxine (Dragoo) Justis. He worked for years at Rival and then as a roofer in the construction business. Eddie loved to take road trips and wheel & deal cars.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Chrissy Jane Justis who passed away in 2000, and three brothers, Wayne, Mike and Galen Justis.

Survivors include his daughter, Jennifer Amieva (Joel) of Warrensburg, Missouri, three grandchildren, Erich, Hailie and Alex Amieva, one sister, Patricia Page of Camdenton, Missouri, one brother, Eugene Justis of Washington, two nephews, Joseph and Justin Daugherty, as well as his close friend, Vinita Nannemann of Clinton, Missouri.

U.S. VeteranClayton Joe Wheeler, age 72, of Clinton, Missouri passed away peacefully in his sleep Saturday, September 12, 2015 at the V.A. Medical Center, Kansas City, Missouri with his family by his side. A graveside service will be held 10:00 A.M. Saturday, September 19, 2015 at Vansant Road Cemetery, Clinton, Missouri. Clayton was the youngest boy born October 29, 1942 in Webb City, Missouri to William and Oma Wheeler. He served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam Era. Clayton was united in marriage to Cheryl Ann Denison on October 17, 1964 in Great Bend, Kansas and to this union seven children were born.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings; Mary, Aileen, Arlene, Billy and Jimmy.

He is survived by his wife, Cheryl, of the home. Seven children: Jeffery (Lori) of Sedalia, Shawn (Stacy) of Green Ridge, Dana (Robert) Heistand of Clinton, William (Amanda) of Alba, Jeanne (Raymond) of Appleton City, Hervina Wheeler of Clinton, and Pamela (Christopher) Anderson of Humansville. One sister, Betty Cook, of Joplin. Clayton is also survived by twenty grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, other family and a host of friends.

Clayton’s favorite recreation was hunting and fishing. He always looked forward to deer season and thoroughly enjoyed trout fishing at Bennett Springs. He loved dabbling in gardening and sitting on his front porch watching people go by. He enjoyed going to Wal-Mart several times a day and Bookers Auctions on Fridays to visit and talk with friends. Clayton was a life-long Denver Broncos fan, win or lose, he would always cheer proudly for his team. Those who knew Clayton will remember him as an outspoken, loud man who was a talker. He was a friend to almost anyone he met and will be missed by his family and those who knew him.

Alva was born June 29, 1932 in Texas County, Missouri the son of Homer and Zilpha (Stockton) Routh. Alva loved music. He was a member of the Golden Valley Blue Grass Association and the Clinton Church of Christ where he served as an elder.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Polly, two sons, William Edward “Eddie” Routh and Elmer Marion Routh, as well as four brothers, and four sisters.

He is survived by his wife, June of the home, one daughter, Cathy (Butch) Good of McAllister, Missouri, a step-daughter Debbie Easterly (Terry) of Windsor, Missouri, two grandchildren, Jeremy and Nehemiah Good, and one great-grandchild, Triton William Good, two siblings, Louis Routh of Independence, Missouri and Shirley Burks of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, as well as a host of nephews, nieces and other family.

Ronald Lee Freeman, 66, was born February 1,1949 in Springfield, Illinois. He was the son of James and Wanda Freeman. He spent most of his early life in Chatham, Illinois and moved to Lake of the Ozarks in 1978. There, he married Linda Leas Freeman in 1990. He served his country in the U.S. Army and was a member of the American Legion Post 624. He retired from Camden County Road District in 2014. He was a member of the board for the Northwest Fire Protection District. He held strong ties to the firehouse until his final days.

He is survived by his mother, Wanda Freeman (Illinois), wife, Linda Freeman (Missouri), 2 brothers David (Jan) Freeman and Mark (Pat) Freeman (both of Illinois) and uncles, aunts, cousins, niece, nephew, and great-nephew. He loved his son, Daniel (Cindy) Freeman(Illinois), stepchildren Ronnie (Crystal) Butler and Rhonda Leas (Missouri), and 5 granddaughters (Destiny, Kaitlyn, Shelby, Jenny, and Patience).

A memorial service will be held at 1:00pm Sunday, September 20 with a potluck with casual clothing to follow at the Northwest Fire Protection District, Station #1 Route 7, Climax Springs, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made to
Northwest Fire Protections Embers Auxiliary.

The SERVICE for Mr. Bley will be held at Hill and Son Funeral Home in Appleton City, Missouri on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at 2:00 p.m.

The MINISTER will be Jerry Johannigmeier .

VISITATION will be held at the funeral home
an hour preceding the service from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m.

A MILITARY GRAVESIDE service will be presented by Montrose Post #8820 assisted by the Missouri Honor Guard.

INTERMENT will be in Bear Creek Cemetery, Montrose, Missouri.

Marvin Leon Bley, son of Charley and Viva (Clyburn) Bley was born on April 27, 1930 in Swartz, Missouri. He passed away Friday, September 18, 2015 at his home in Montrose, Missouri at the age of 85.
Marvin grew up in the Swartz area, attending elementary school in Bronaugh, later graduating from Nevada High School. During his high school years, he helped in his uncle’s sawmill.
After graduating from high school, Marvin went into the Army. He served in Germany during the Korean Conflict on anti-aircraft detail. He was a dedicated member of the Montrose VFW Post #8820.
Marvin was united in marriage to Marjorie Havens shortly after his graduation from high school. To this union five children were born: Gary, Barbara, Linda, Carol and Mary Jo. They later divorced. He then married Ann Bearce and to this union another daughter, Kathy, was born.
Marvin lived in various towns in Missouri throughout his life. He farmed in the Nevada area for several years. He began logging in 1964. He bought standing timber, cut it, sold the logs to different mills, and then he trucked the logs to them. He continued logging after he moved to Montrose, Missouri in 1978. He owned and operated Bley’s Firewood and Logging. He enjoyed everything about logging including building logging equipment and “tinkering” with equipment.
Marvin retired at the age of 65, but continued to do some logging. He enjoyed fishing for catfish and carp.
Preceding Marvin in death were his parents; his second wife, Ann; daughter, Mary Jo McCown (2011); brother, Lee Bley (1975); infant sister, Chelsea Bley and son-in-law Danny Lesmeister (2012).
Surviving Marvin are his children: Gary Bley (Stella), Montrose, Missouri, Barbara Lycan (Brad), Kansas City, Missouri, Linda Barner (Matt), Rogersville, Missouri, Carol Jean Tweedy (Cedric), Independence, Missouri and Kathy Lesmeister, Montrose, Missouri; step-daughter Rita Shelton; granddaughters: Sierra Ishmael (Anthony), Natalie Barner, Nicole Barner, Amanda Bley, Stephanie Motley, and Karyn Norris (Justin); grandsons: Shalun Motley (Amanda), William “George” Blevins (Monica), Gary Bley, Jr.; Allen Shelton (Flicia) and J. R. Shelton (Anita); brother Clyde Bley (Ladean); sisters: Glenna Gordon, Hazel Gulliford (V.H.), and Charlene Widmar (Rudy); and numerous great-grandchildren.

Merel Corum, age 81 of Clinton, MO, entered into rest at Clinton Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center, on September 18, 2015. Merel was born on July 7, 1934, in Osceola, Missouri, the son of Jesse and Mary (Jones) Corum. On September 16, 1961, he married Patricia Miller in Clinton, MO and she survives of the home. In addition to his wife of 54 years, Merel is survived by his son, Thomas Corum (Cynthia) of Greenwood, MO,; grandchildren, Daniel, Erika, Rebecca, Mckenzie, Alexander and Nicholas; great grandchildren, Ayree & Emma; as well as several cousins, nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Merel was preceded in death by his parents and his twin brother, Earl Corum. Merel retired from Armco Steel (GST). He served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He was a Past Master of Clinton Masonic Lodge #548, and a member of Index Lodge #54, Garden City, MO. He was a member of the Boy Scouts of America and the Tribe of Mic-O-Say for over 30 years. A memorial service will be held at Consalus Funeral Chapel on Saturday, September 26, 2015 at 2:00 PM. The family will receive visitors an hour prior to the service. Betty L. Morris, age 86 of Clinton, MO, died at her home on Wednesday following a brief illness. Betty was born May 12, 1929 in Independence MO to James Nelson, Sr. and Nora Burley-Nelson. Betty grew up in Kansas City KS. She worked as a seamstress in the clothing manufacturing industry most of her adult life as well as home health care. Betty married Edward Morris at Miami, OK. Besides her family, she loved quilting, knitting, crocheting, reading, jigsaw puzzles, gardening and fishing. Survivors include her children, Peggy Brenton (Craig) of Kansas City, KS, Megan Thurman (Charles) of Marshfield, MO, John Morris (Jacqueline) of Springfield, MO, and Polly Bautsch (Douglas Julian) of Clinton, MO; eight grandchildren, Jenny, David, Annie, Emily, Kristina, Elizabeth, Paige and Cynthia; sixteen great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and a host of friends. Katrina L. “Tina” Cook, 72, of Cole Camp, Missouri, formerly of Green Ridge, Mo., died early Sunday morning, September 20, 2015 at the Good Samaritan Care Center, Cole Camp, Mo.

She was born June 18, 1943, in Kansas City, Mo., the daughter of Vincent Charles Wolf and C. Lorine (Wolf) McDaniel. On July 4, 1965, in Warrensburg, Mo., at the Cumberland Presbyterian Church, she married Ronald Roy “Shorty” Cook. He preceded her in death on February 18, 2000.

Katrina was a 1963 graduate of Green Ridge High School. She co-owned and operated Cook’s Solid Waste in the Green Ridge area with her husband for over 30 years. She was a member of the Green Ridge Baptist Church and the Brown Homemakers Club, Sedalia, Mo.

Survivors include 2 sons, Chris A. Cook (Brenda), Columbia, Mo., and Hadley C. Cook (Debbie), New Bloomfield, Mo.; 8 grandchildren, Kimberly, Ronnie, Jacob, Savanah, Crystal, Nicole, Mikayla, and Klyie; a former daughter-in-law, Sondra Griffin (Edward), LaMonte, Mo.; a brother, Dawrence Wolf, Rye, Colorado; 2 sisters, Teresa Simon and Monica George, both of Sedalia, Mo.; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Tina was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Cletus Royce Wolf, Noel Wolf, and Gervase Wolfe; a sister, Carmelita Knipp and a loving companion, Red Turley.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 26, 2015, at the Green Ridge Baptist Church, with Brother Larry Hill officiating and Rev. Bill Talley assisting. Gerry Warner, 94, of Windsor, Missouri, died early Monday morning, September 21, 2015, at the Golden Valley Memorial Hospital, Clinton, Mo.

She was born on October 3, 1920, near Barmuton, in Camden County, Mo, the daughter of Ray Adair and Elzie (Burns) Adair. On October 31, 1947, at the First Christian Church in Windsor, she married Raymond Warner, who preceded her in death on December 10, 1994.

As a young lady, Gerry worked as a waitress for Ship Ahoy Restaurants while living in Niagara Falls, New York, Canada, South Carolina, Alabama, Georgia, and Hawaii, for a year before moving back to Windsor. She then married Raymond, who had returned from serving in the Army during World War II. Together, they purchased a farm in 1950, southeast of Windsor where they farmed and started the area’s first confinement hog operation, later raising registered Angus cattle which they did until their retirement. She loved fishing with her parents and family and she also enjoyed making all kinds of crafts that she took to many craft shows each year. She was a member of the Windsor United Methodist Church and was a former member of the Brandon United Methodist Church.

Gerry is survived by 2 sons, Donnie Warner and Jim Warner, both of Windsor, Mo.; a daughter, Nancy Button and husband David, Marshall, Mo.; 2 grandchildren, Jenny Ridenour and husband Mike; Britt Zank and wife Marlana; 5 great-grandchildren, Kaelyn, Taigan, Harper, Landon and Kylie; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Malcom Adair.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, September 24, 2015, at the Hadley Funeral Home, Windsor, with Pastor Pete Hill officiating. Burial will be in Laurel Oak Cemetery, Windsor. The family will receive friends before the service from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
