Randy Acker, 56, of Windsor, Missouri, died peacefully at his home, Saturday morning, September 5, 2015, surrounded by his family and friends, after a long battle with cancer.
He was born December 29, 1958, in Windsor, Mo., the son of Francis Dean “Chick” Acker and Joyce Lee (Wright) Acker.
After graduating from Windsor High School, Randy worked as a heavy equipment operator in the Windsor area for many years, working with his father and later operating his own business. He enjoyed being involved in all kinds of sports and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals and Arizona Cardinals fan. He was a member of the Windsor Fantasy Football League, “The Barber Shop,” and also a member of the Elks Lodge No. 1034, Clinton, Mo.; and had attended the Windsor United Methodist Church. Randy especially enjoyed his loyal dogs, Josie and Ginger.
Survivors include his parents, Chick and Joyce Acker, Windsor, Mo.; two daughters, Jessalynn Cairer and her husband Travis, Sedalia, Mo.; Cortney Blythe and her husband, Sean, Windsor, Mo.; the mother of his two daughters, Julie Acker, Windsor, Mo.; a sister, Tammie Brooks and her husband Robert, Derby, Kansas; 5 grandchildren, Brooklynn Greene, Jordan Cairer, Isaiah Cairer, Nevaeh Blythe, and Tanner Blythe; a niece, Rylee Brooks; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Randy is also survived by his loving companion, Ann McCalmon.
Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 9, 2015, at the Windsor United Methodist Church with Pastor Pete Hill officiating. Burial will be in the Laurel Oak Cemetery, Windsor. The family will receive friends before the service from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the church. The family suggests contributions to the Windsor Booster Club and contributions may be left in care of the funeral home.
